The «One Village One Product» movement (hereinafter referred to as OVOP) provides various services for the development and promotion of products from local raw materials, based on the concept of rural development through the production of at least one competitive product.
The OVOP project was initiated within the framework of the UNDP «The Project for Supporting Self-reliance through Climate-resilient Agriculture in the Aral Sea Region», funded by the Government of Japan.
The goal is to identify regional products from local and local resources, including at the rural level, as well as assistance in improving production technologies and promoting access to external and (or) internal markets.
Small and medium-sized businesses and the population with entrepreneurial initiative producing products from local and local resources can participate in the OVOP project.
There are a number of specific criteria for participation in the OVOP project:
- products (goods) must be made from local/local raw materials;
- simple tools and mechanisms must be used in the manufacture of products (goods);
- products (goods) should, if possible, reflect and contain the regional characteristics of the area (history of product output) in which they are produced;
- the availability of equipment and the creation of jobs is encouraged;
- take into account the potential for promoting products for export;
- take into account the availability of the necessary certificate/declaration of conformity of products established by technical regulations, either at the stage of passing or receiving a certificate for food and eco-products, or having the potential to pass certification/declaration, having conditions for production;
