Taqan (from Turkic talqan; Russian oatmeal) is coarse flour made from roasted barley or wheat.

Traditionally, the grains are ground on millstones or pounded in a mortar, then sifted through a sieve, separating flour of different grinds. Accordingly, taqan can be coarsely ground and finely ground. Taqan is served with sour cream or butter and used to make porridge, served with tea with honey.

Traditionally, the dish is served at the table during holidays and agricultural rituals. Taqan is also often used to make jarma drinks.
